The last thing Ransom Kent wants is a bride. A woman cost him his peerage and his family in England. He's a rebel now, with a dangerous job to do for his adopted country. His word is all he has left to honor his father, so he agrees to an arranged marriage to the scandalous daughter of a duke.
Catherine Thorpe has no expectations of marriage in England and owes much to her cousin. She agrees to take her place as the expected bride and sails to a new life. She doesn't believe her impersonation will lead to romance and true love, but she didn't expect to become the Rebel's Bride.

Book Reviews
Affaire de Coeur - Five Stars
A wonderfully written book filled with spice, spirit and sexual tension
Romantic Times
The Rebel's Bride is reminiscent of the historical romances of some years back... Well written... Accurate historically."
The Word On Romance / Judith Rippelmeyer
Betrayed by a married woman and banished to America, the very last thing Ransom Kent wants is a wife. But a wife is exactly what he's getting, thanks to an agreement between his father and the Duke of Winthorpe. Ransom is more interested in doing all he can to help the new United States defeat the British in the War of 1812. Using his ship, Ebony, he raids for weapons and ammunition to supply the army.
Catherine Thorpe is just the poor relation, so when her cousin, Lady Sabrina Thorpe begs Catherine to take her place as the promised bride, Catherine agrees. She has no dreams of marrying in England, and America seems like the perfect place to start a new life. She has no dreams of love, but wishes only to be useful. Catherine doesn't count on her uncontrollable attraction to her new husband, or Sabrina showing up at the last moment. Can true love find its way through a war and across a huge ocean?
What a joy it was to read an old-fashioned historical romance, complete with pirates, sailing ships, and mistaken identities (plus a few more things which I'll leave a secret). Ransom is a hero without peer, and Catherine a heroine worthy of such a hero. I absolutely loved when Catherine defends her new home along with her "petticoat brigade." Perfectly written and completely balanced, The Rebel's Bride is a dynamite read.
Sime-Gen Reviews / Nan Doporto - Four Stars

JoAnn DeLazzari has long been missed and this novel opens a new vista for her fans. She is a writer of considerable talent with a wonderful imaginative style and the ability to make you laugh and cry. Her characters are well rounded and their diversity make for fun reading. In The Rebel's Bride, we have a delectable page turner with great sexual tension, spitfire dialogue and a super satisfying romance. The story takes place on both sides of the Atlantic thus giving an interesting view of the war which makes for an unusual external tension. New readers will enjoy her humor, plot twists and grand writing style.
